Sorry have been out of town past couple of days. Well the Hulick metals, Oh so pretty nails, Redstar motorsports and Ferrari of sublette hot rod was bad fast on saturday. and..... Once again the driver was much better than the crew chief..... Before we get started , I want to thank Bill and Dustin from Redstar for the new paint scheme on the racecar.
Well we worked on the car that week and everything went well. We rolled off the trailer and right from the start practice went well and Bobby was quick. It took bobby 2 practice rounds to get comfortable at this track at racing speeds. All day long he was quicker and quicker. From the beginning of the day till the last race, the 2 cars pictured shaved 1.7 seconds off their times. Since this was our first real attempt at racing at Slinger it was an experience.
As Bobby were getting faster and faster, I made adjustments to get the car to turn better and better. Unfortunately we had the wrong front spring setup in the car. (picture 2) By the feature race. Bobby can drive that car in harder than anyone else.
Starting on the outside of the John Bienlich #93 car, Bobby was all over his rear bumper and actually had to check up a couple of times as not to hit him. As the right front tire got hotter, we would lose speed in the corners. Bobby finished second all day. The driver was much better than the setup on the car.
Some exciting news about 2007/2008 season. It has been conformed that the 2008 season, Bobby will be driving a United States Super Truck. Currently the team is working on a 2 truck program for 2008. For anyone wanting more info for the racing, check out www.usstracing.com. To put into perspective, these trucks are similar to the Nascar Craftsman truck series. The age bracket for this series and ASA has been dropped to the age of 13. Once again Bobby will be the youngest driver in the series. Currently we are on schedule to practice for the first time in 2 weeks.
Our next race will be in less than 2 weeks at Rockford on July 29th. Watch for the new web site coming soon.
Hope to see everyone at the track soon!
